Igniting the Invisible Tribe: Designing An Organization That Doesn’t Suck

Right now, most of our organizations suck…
…the life out of us (the people who work for them).
…the resources from our planet (with no thought of repercussions).
…the meaning from our existence (through pointless tasks).
They also suck (in the more informal sense) in that they’re too slow, too bureaucratic, and too static.
In short, they’re designed for a world that doesn’t exist anymore.
Amidst a rise of a fresh wave of entrepreneurial energy, we continue to do what we’ve always done: form groups and gather in tribes. Many years of evolution have taught us that we can accomplish more together than we can apart. For all its individualized rhetoric, the new economy is built on a foundation of interconnectedness.
Just beyond our sight, there exists a group of people who desperately want to come together to support a cause, an endeavor, a dream. This tribe, whomever they are, wherever they are, is incredibly passionate about what we want to do—they just need someone to liberate their abilities to work toward a common goal.
They need someone to organize and motivate them in a new way.
These groups are an invisible tribe, and igniting them is the key to succeeding in the new economy and unlocking a new, more healthy and fulfilling, way to work.
This is a book about discovering the invisible threads that bind us together and build communities of passion.
It’s about designing an organization that doesn’t suck.
Look for Igniting the Invisible Tribe coming in 2012.

BLUR: Finding Faith in a Fuzzy World
Josh’s first book, Blur, was released in 2007 as a limited edition eBook.
It’s currently out of print (so to speak) and hiding in his digital vaults. Josh has full intentions of doing a few edits and re-releasing it in paper and digital formats after Igniting the Invisible Tribe is published.

Thanks Dom! Really appreciate that. We’ve just started pitching, so hopefully we’ll quickly find a publisher who can get excited about it too! I’m really eager to get it out there.
