Quite possibly my favorite commercial ever. (From TBWA\Chiat\Day’s Think Different campaign in 1997.)
Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits.
The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
Love.

P.S. For any other Apple fans out there, there’s a fun Easter egg related to this campaign that can still be found in your Mac OS. Want a hint? Look at your TextEdit icon… I mean REALLY look…

You realize this is Jack Keruouc’s quote, right? ( ; Have you read any of the Beat Literature? You would love.

Hey Jamie -- after your comment I realized I had NO idea about who wrote this piece of work I love so much, so I did a little research. The gods of the internet (read: Wikipedia) seem to think it's a misattribution to Kerouac -- but has some striking similarities to a piece of On The Road. Also, I came across a great interview with the guy who lead the "Think Different" team at TBWA\Chiat\Day.
On another note, to answer your question -- NO, I haven't read any beat lit! I think you're totally right that I'd love it. Where should I start?

Thanks, Josh. I needed this today. I am getting a lot of push back for going up against the status quo right now and I needed the good dose of perspective that your post gave me. Love, Carrie

Stuff I Wish I Wrote « Your Stellar Star
[...] I was SO excited to see this video on Josh Allan Dykstra’s blog, The Work Revolution. I don’t remember seeing this old Apple commercial but I know at one time I did because the last line, “The people who are crazy enough to believe they can change the world, are the ones who do” I actually have written down in my quote book. But I couldn’t remember where I heard it from. Yay! Check out this video for A Bit of Inspiration. [...]
